  1. Alison – I am so incredibly glad to know you as I trust you as an expert in your field! I am guilty that I have always not been as persistent and diligent in putting on the proper amount of sunscreen in my life. However, in the last several years I have fixed this error as I have seen many people suffer the effects of not applying sunscreen. It is scary. I will never stop and join being outside but I will always be persistent in protecting my skin. Thanks for this reminder!

    1. Hi Meredith, I am so glad you found this post useful. It is so common that we only pull out that sunscreen when we are at the beach, we don’t realize the effects the sun has on our skin. It is also really important to get a body check by a dermatologist every year, as little spots can develop and our spots can change. By wearing sunblock and getting our annual check we can avoid some of the ageing and sun damage and possibly even skin cancer. Sunscreen is just another form of self care and so glad you will be more mindful and include it in your routine!

  3. Alison, me coming from a city that has re-branded itself as the blue sky city I should pay heed to your advice to make applying sunscreen a daily habit. Yet, I am like what I assume to be the most of society and pull out the suncscreen come summer or a sunny holiday.

    I certainly want to invest in my long-term health but in the winter especially I focus more on getting a few thousand UI’s of D3 in me with a couple hundred mcg of K2. Still – I will pass this on to my readers.

    1. Robert this is such a great point, we often times only apply sunscreen when we are going to the beach but every day even when it’s overcast we can get burned and our skin damaged. Just like flossing our teeth everyday we should be applying sunscreen! Have a Merry Christmas and a happy healthy new year!
